The Cast Cut carbide burr from Pferd Inc. is designed for work on cast iron. It offers a high stock removal rate with a smooth milling action to reduce vibration and noise, the manufacturer states.
The burr’s tooth geometry helps it achieve stock removal rates up to 100 percent higher than conventional double-cut burrs, states the manufacturer. It is designed for coarse stock removal on all types of black, gray, and white cast iron. With a cutting speed of 1,500 to 2,500 SFPM (rotational speed 12,000 to 20,000 RPM), it delivers an aggressive cutting action that results in large chips and good chip removal, according to the company.
