Global nickel production rises in Q1 while shortage remains still-The 20th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l Casting product Exhibition

According to the statistics from the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global nickel production totaled around 535,000 tons in the first quarter this year, which rose by 45,000 tons compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the output from Chinese nickel refineries had a year-on-year increase of 14,000 tons, but the demand also rose by 16,000 tons year on year. Besides, the global nickel demand also had a year-on-year hike of 10,000 tons during the period.
Therefore, the gap of global nickel was up to 23,200 tons roughly in the first quarter of 2019. Moreover, as the end of March, the nickel stocks from the London Metal Exchange (LME) slid by 23,900 tons from the end of 2018.
