Chesterland, Ohio-based Fairmount Santrol, formerly Fairmount Minerals, recently made its initial public offering of 25 million shares of common stock on the New York Stock Exchange. The company’s new name reflects the combined Fairmount Minerals and Santrol brand names.

Fairmount Santrol provides high-performance sand and sand-based products used by oil and gas exploration and production companies to enhance the productivity of their wells. The company also supplies the metalcasting, building products, water filtration, glass, and sports and recreation markets. Its global logistics capabilities include a network of distribution terminals and rail cars.
