Chinese Alumina Imports in January-November 2019 Surge by 167%-The 21st China(Guangzhou) Die-casting, Foundry & Industry Furnace Exhibition

Latest data from China Customs showed that China’s imports of alumina totaled 1.24 million tonnes in the first eleven months of 2019, up 167.51% from the same period a year earlier. Alumina imports in November stood at 206,800 tonnes, after the intake climbed 60% on the month and 397.9% on the year to 240,000 tonne in October.
Customs data also showed that China exported 10,700 tonnes of alumina last month, making the domestic net imports of alumina at 196,100 tonnes in November. As a result, China’s net imports of alumina amounted to 1.01 million tonnes in the first eleven months of the year.
