China’s exports of steel products up in January--The 15th China(Guangzhou)Int’l Metal &Metallurgy Exhibition

China’s exports of steel products during January stood at 6.77 million tons, up by 1.4 million or 37.6% from a year earlier.
The export price in the month averaged at US$828.32/ton, down by US$23.5/ton from a month ago. Meanwhile, imports of steel products increased by 140,000 tons to 1.35 million tons, with an average price of US$1,243.14/ton on the prior month.
The country is estimated to produce 1.96 million tons per day of crude steel in the end of January, according to the China Iron & Steel Assn (CISA).
