Coherent Inc. has introduced new, higher-power, higher-brightness diode laser components for industrial applications.
At 780 to 830 nm, the company’s proprietary AAA™ technology has been extended to include 60- and 80-W low-fill-factor bars, as well as a new 70-W, 800-μm core fiber array package (FAP). All are qualified to more than 20,000 hours’ lifetime.
At 975 nm high-efficiency 60-, 100-, and 150-W low-fill-factor bars also are qualified to more than 20,000 hours’ lifetime. At both wavelengths, the bars are suitable for fiber coupling and optical beam combining, enabling high-brightness beam delivery for applications such as the pumping of solid-state and fiber lasers, as well as direct-diode materials processing, including metal welding, cladding, and heat treating.
