ThyssenKrupp announced that it had started construction of a new hot-dip galvanizing line at its Dortmund plant, known as FBA10, with approval from the Arnsberg regional government.
The new galvanized line was scheduled to be operational by 2021 and was expected to create more than 100 new jobs in Dortmund.
Once the new production line was completed, the cost of construction will be decreased and the production capacity was 600,000 tons per year.
The company stated that the FBA10 galvanized line will produce steel for automotive interior and exterior applications as well as highly innovative zinc-magnesium products with a low coating thickness that saved materials and costs while ensuring high durability.
