Taiwanese fastener industry in the first half of 2014 performed well with the growth of around 11% both in export volume and value, due to the recovery of US economy.
Top 10 Consumers of Taiwanese Fasteners in the First Half
The export of Taiwanese fasteners totaled 782 thousand tons in the first half of 2014. The top destinations were US (taking up 36% of the total volume), Germany (9%), Netherlands (6%), Japan (6%), UK (4%), Mainland China (3%), Canada (3%), Sweden (3%), Italy (2%) and Poland (2%).
The average unit price of Taiwan’s exported fasteners in 2013 was NT$78.8/kg, and the figure in 2014 is expected to slightly grow to NT$79.5/kg.
The total export value is forecast to reach NT$116 billion in 2015 and the average unit price is expected to exceed NT$80/kg. The output is to reach nearly 12.5 million tons.
