Taiwanese wire rod price to remain stable-The 21st China (Guangzhou)Int’l Fastener & Equipment Exhibition

Taiwanese wire rod and wire transaction price remained stable. However, the
demand was not strong compared to first half of this year. Some Taiwanese fastener manufacturers benefited from the US-China trade war due to order transferred, but some fastener manufacturers said that the order was not as good as the same period last year.
The current deal price from Taiwanese China Steel Corp. (CSC)''s Al-killed wire rod was about US$22,900~23,200/ton and Dragon Steel''s Al-killed wire rod was about US$22,200~22,500/ton. The current deal price from CSC''s Al-killed finish wire was about US$27,000~27,100/ton and Dragon Steel''s Al-killed finish wire was about US$26,000~26,100/ton.
In the US-China trade war, industry insiders pointed out that the demand for mechanical steel had slight influence. However, the impact was not big during the trade war. End users adjusted mainly for their normal inventory before end of the year.
As for the steel prices in China, steel mills all kept their prices flat in October. In this regard, industry insiders said that the recent Chinese steel prices will help the price stability in the market.
